"From the South Downs Way to the Canadian Rocky Mountains and now in Cumbria my Páramo jacket has been my faithful companion. Purchased around 8 years ago on the recommendation of my mountaineer daughter who has extensively tested many brands of outdoor clothing.
My jacket was put to good use initially on walks in Sussex then in The Rockies where I lived with my Canadian partner in Jasper for 2 years. Layered with thermals and fleece it kept me warm and dry in temperatures as low as -25 degrees, skiing across frozen lakes, climbing mountains, exploring icy canyons and taking part in conservation work on the spectacular alpine meadows of Mt. Edith Cavell. My Canadian friends were really impressed that a jacket that looked smart enough to wear around town also performed outstandingly in extreme conditions.
It continues to serve me well in the Lake District, where I now live, exploring the fells and beautiful countryside. My romance in Canada did not endure, but my Páramo will for many more years I'm sure, it is still as good as new. I have recently purchased a pair of Cascada trousers which I'm equally impressed with, a sound investment if they last long as the jacket."
