| Walking just north of Ullapool in howling gale. Wore a base layer, reversible shirt and Mountain Pull-on on top with Cascada Trousers. Too warm !!!!!!! Next day, same area further north. base layer and Smock with Cascada Trousers. left my van in high winds and rain. Gained a bit of altitude and rain turned to hail and then snow. I had one of the finest days on the hills i've ever had. I was warm and dry the entire time. and to think I could have missed out on the Páramo experience. however!!!! when buying my pull-on I asked the guy in the shop about sizing. I'd tried on a size L but he said I'd be better off with the next size up so I could wear warm stuff underneath, so I bought size XL. WRONG!!!!!!!!!! I wear much less under my Paramo gear. I'm lighter and freer with many fewer layers. so I'm buying an Aspira Smock in size L and I'm off into the hills. I'm hoping I don't see you there but if I do you'll probably be wearing Páramo cos the weather'll be foul. | ||
